Homayoun Shajarian, born on May 21, 1975, in Tehran, is a singer, composer, and Iranian traditional and fusion musician, and the son of the late Maestro Mohammad Reza Shajarian.

Due to his family’s artistic background, Homayoun developed an interest in music at a young age. Under his father’s guidance, he studied technique and rhythm under Mr. Farhangfar’s supervision and continued his musical education with renowned masters such as Jamshid Mohebi, Ardeshir Kamkar, and other teachers.

Together with his sisters, he learned Persian traditional vocal, Avaaz, from his father. Homayoun then pursued his academic training at Tehran Music Conservatory, choosing Kamancheh.

(Fiddle) as his professional instrument. He also learned to play Santoor, Ta’ar, and Tombak under the guidance of prominent musicians. In 1991, he accompanied his father on concerts in the US, Europe, and Iran, playing Tombak, and began singing with his father from 1999 onwards.

In March 2017, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance awarded him a first-class artistic certificate in Avaaz, which is equivalent to a doctorate degree.

Homayoun Shajarian has performed numerous concerts with prominent Iranian music figures and released many works in Iran and globally. He has also been nominated for and won several awards, including “I Can’t Go on Living Without You” and “Faryad” albums, both of which were nominated for Grammy Awards in 2003 and 2005. Additionally, “Sleep with My Ghazals Tonight” won the “Ma” Independent Music Award, and “Beyn” album was the winner of the Barbad Music Award.
